Delhi College of Art（デリー）、パーソンズ・スクール・オブ・デザイン（ニューヨーク）、スタンフォード大学（カリフォルニア）で学ぶ。ギルの作品は、ロンドンのホワイトチャペル・ギャラリー（2010年）、ロンドンのウィーナー図書館（2014年）、カリフォルニアのサンノゼ美術館（2015年）、インドのケララ州で開催されたコチ=ムジリス・ビエンナーレ（2016年）など、国際的に展示されている。2017年、彼女の作品はドクメンタ14（アテネとカッセル）、第7回モスクワ・ビエンナーレ、ポンピドゥー・センター（パリ）で展示された。また、バーゼルのティンゲリー美術館（2018年）、ニューヨークのMoMA PS1（2018年）、第58回ヴェネツィア・ビエンナーレ（2019年）、ダッカのチョビメラ（2019年）、カリフォルニア州のバークレー美術館（2020年）でも展示されている。最初の大規模な展覧会は、2022年にフランクフルトのシルン美術館で開催され、2023年1月にデンマーク、フムレベックのルイジアナ近代美術館にも場所を移して開催された。また、公立図書館、田舎の学校、非営利団体など、アートの世界以外の場所でも展示を行っている。また、作品はニューヨーク近代美術館、ロンドンのテート・モダン、ワシントンのスミソニアン博物館、スイスのヴィンタートゥール写真美術館などに所蔵されている。受賞歴には、オンタリオ美術館が授与するグランジ賞（2011年）、 インディア・トゥデイ・アート・アワード （2018年）などがある。イタリアのロックフェラー財団ベラージオ・センターでクリエイティブ・アーツ・フェローを務め（2013年）、スタンフォード大学では第1回ロベルタ・デニング・ビジティング・アーティストを務めた（2022年）。最近、エディション・パトリック・フレイから、地方のアーティストとのコラボレーションに関する2冊の本『Acts of Appearance』（2022年）と『Fields of Sight』（2023年）を出版した。

【Biography】
Gill studied at Delhi College of Art, Parsons School of Design, New York, and Stanford University, California. Her work has been shown internationally, including at Whitechapel Gallery, London (2010), The Wiener Holocaust Library, London (2014), San Jose Museum of Art, California (2015) and the Kochi-Muziris Biennale in Kerala, India (2016). In 2017, Gill’s work was exhibited at Documenta 14, Athens and Kassel, the 7th Moscow Biennale, and Centre Pompidou, Paris. It has been shown at Museum Tinguely, Basel (2018), MoMA PS1, New York (2018), the 58th Venice Biennale (2019), Chobi Mela, Dhaka (2019), and BAMPFA, Berkeley, California (2020). Gill’s fi rst major survey exhibition opened at Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt, in 2022, moving to Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Humlebak, Denmark, in January 2023. She also exhibits at locations outside the art world, including public libraries, rural schools and non-profit institutions. Her work is held by institutions including The Museum of Modern Art, New York, Tate Modern, London, Smithsonian Institution, Washington and Fotomuseum Winterthur, Switzerland. Her awards include the Grange Prize, awarded by the Art Gallery of Ontario (2011), and an India Today Art Award (2018). She has been a Creative Arts Fellow at the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center, Italy (2013), and was the inaugural Roberta Denning Visiting Artist at Stanford University (2022). Gill has recently published two books with Edition Patrick Frey about her collaborations with rural artists, Acts of Appearance (2022) and Fields of Sight (2023).
